Solana NFT Wallet Guide

Wallets that support Solana NFTs and how to use them safely.

To mint, hold, or trade Solana NFTs you need a Solana wallet. The wallet holds your SOL and your NFT tokens and lets you sign transactions. Here is what to look for and how to stay safe.

What You Need in a Wallet

Your wallet must support Solana (mainnet) and the SPL Token and NFT metadata standards. It should show your NFT collectibles (image and name) and let you send and receive them. You also need a way to connect the wallet to websites (e.g. our Create NFT page) and to marketplaces. The standard is the Solana Wallet Adapter: sites that use it work with any compatible wallet.

Popular Solana Wallets

Phantom is one of the most used Solana wallets. It has browser extension and mobile app, shows NFTs in a collectibles tab, and works with minting sites and marketplaces. Solflare and Backpack are also widely used and support NFTs and the same connection standard. Choose one from the official website or app store to avoid phishing.

Connecting to Sites

When you click “Connect Wallet” on a site, your wallet will ask you to approve the connection. You are not giving away your keys; you are allowing the site to request signatures for transactions (e.g. mint, list, transfer). You can revoke the connection in your wallet settings. Only connect on sites you trust and double-check the URL.

Keeping Your NFT Safe

Your NFT is only as safe as your wallet. Never share your seed phrase or private key. Do not sign transactions you do not understand. Use the wallet’s official download source. For large holdings, consider a hardware wallet that supports Solana. After you mint, the NFT is in the wallet you connected; we never custody it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need SOL in my wallet to mint?
Yes. You need enough SOL to pay the mint transaction fee (and any platform fee). The wallet will show your SOL balance and prompt you to sign the transaction.
Can I use the same wallet on multiple devices?
Yes, if you restore it with the same seed phrase on each device. The wallet is the key; the device is just an interface. Restoring on a new device gives access to the same SOL and NFTs.
What if my NFT does not show in my wallet?
Wallets fetch NFT data from the chain and metadata URI. If the metadata or image is slow or down, the NFT might not display immediately. Check that the mint transaction succeeded and that the metadata URI is valid.
Can I send an NFT to another wallet?
Yes. Use the wallet’s send feature, select the NFT, and enter the recipient’s Solana address. You will sign a transfer transaction and pay a small fee in SOL.

If you want to create and mint your NFT without coding you can use our Solana NFT creator tool which lets you generate metadata and mint NFTs directly on the Solana blockchain.
