How to Sell Solana NFTs

List, price, and get paid. A practical guide for creators.

After you mint your NFT on Solana, it sits in your wallet. To sell it, you list it on a marketplace. The marketplace holds your listing (and sometimes the NFT in escrow) until a buyer pays; then the NFT is transferred and you receive SOL (minus fees). Here’s how to do it.

Choose a Marketplace

Solana has several major marketplaces. Magic Eden, Tensor, and others support listing and buying Solana NFTs. You connect your wallet, and the marketplace reads your NFTs. Pick one (or list on multiple if they allow it). For a walkthrough of the largest, see how to list an NFT on Magic Eden.

Connect Your Wallet and List

Connect the same wallet that holds the NFT. Find the NFT in your collection and choose “List” or “Sell”. Set a price in SOL (or sometimes in a stablecoin, depending on the platform). You may need to sign a transaction to create the listing. Some marketplaces take the NFT into escrow; others list it without moving it until sale. Follow the platform’s flow.

Fees and Royalties

Marketplaces charge a fee (a percentage of the sale). You receive the sale price minus that fee. If you set royalties when you minted, marketplaces that support them will pay you a percentage of secondary sales too. Royalties are in the metadata; enforcement depends on the marketplace.

When Someone Buys

The buyer pays (usually in SOL). The marketplace executes the transfer: NFT from you to the buyer, SOL from the buyer to you (minus fees). The transaction is on-chain. You see the SOL in your wallet; the buyer sees the NFT in theirs. You can then list another item or withdraw your SOL to an exchange or cold storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to list on multiple marketplaces?
You can list on one or several. Some marketplaces require the NFT to be in their escrow, which means it can only be listed there until you cancel. Others allow listing without moving the NFT. Check each platform’s rules.
How do I get paid?
You receive SOL (or the currency the marketplace uses) to the same wallet that listed the NFT. The marketplace deducts its fee and sends you the rest when the sale completes.
Can I cancel a listing?
Yes. On the marketplace where you listed, find the NFT and choose to cancel or delist. If the NFT was in escrow, it will be returned to your wallet.
What if my NFT doesn’t show on a marketplace?
Marketplaces index NFTs by scanning the chain. It can take a short time after minting for an NFT to appear. If it never shows, check that the metadata and image URIs are valid and that the marketplace supports your NFT standard.
